Our latest YouTube video on the Monnal T60 serves as an extension to our previous content, showing the step-by-step process of initiating “BiPAP” on the Monnal T60 transport ventilator through the PSV-NIV mode.
It’s important to note that this tutorial specifically caters to Monnal T60 units where PI control is directly managed, as opposed to PS. For users encountering “PS” settings on their device, we recommend referring to the earlier Episode 4: ‘How to Start PSV-NIV Mode Ventilation | S01E04’ for guidance.
What is PSV-NIV Mode?
PSV = Pressure Support Ventilation. It is also known as “BiPAP” or “Bilevel” mode, where 2 levels of pressure are being delivered during spontaneous breathing.
NIV = Non-Invasive Ventilation. This means that positive pressure breaths are delivered via an interface such as a mask or prongs that seals over the nose, mouth or both.
In this video, we are using a non-vented oronasal mask (also known as full-face mask), brand: Respireo Hospital F NV, disposable.
